DESCRIPTION
Rare disease of the 9th cranial nerve (glossopharyngeal). Characteristics - paroxysms of sharp, darting pain affecting the posterior pharynx, base of tongue, jaw.
CAUSES
Rare tumor (nasopharyngeal or other intracranial tumor), trauma, usually no known cause

  • Carbamazepine with or without phenytoin
